This novella takes place between books 2 and 3.
Damien doesn't believe in ghosts, even when he hears the voice of his ex-best friend Pete calling to him from the Banking and Finances building, the scene of his death. His new friend Riley doesn't believe in ghosts, either, but when Damien confides in him about what he thinks he heard, the two of them decide to investigate. On Halloween night.
A decision they come to regret as soon as Pete's ghost traps them inside the building. It turns out Pete's got unfinished business with Damien concerning the collapse of their friendship. Damien's always blamed Pete for how it ended, but now Pete forces him to acknowledge the part he played in it. In order to survive the night, Damien will not only have to figure out how to fight a ghost, but he'll have to tell the truth about his past--even when that truth threatens to destroy his new friendship with Riley.

A short, but truly excellent story! As has been remarked upon in a previous review, everyone was in character and not only was this a fitting conclusion to Damian and Pete's "friendship", but it was also a very well done look at X's new and growing friendship with Riley, which I find to be one of the most interesting and emotionally touching aspects of the entire series. Obviously you need to read the prior books in order to fully understand and appreciate this tale, but no one who has read the previous books should be without this nifty novella.Product details

Actually a very nice little story. Very much recommended for fans of Renegade X.
I'm a fan of the Renegade X series so I was happy to see this little book pop up. Some authors will quickly put together a short story to please the fans but it feels forced in the end. This is not one of those times. The Haunting of Renegade X was well thought out and the characters have not lost what makes them, them. It's a nice quick read and I really enjoyed seeing the characters once again!
